'The Civil War in Tipperary' is a sequel to 'The Third Brigade A History of the Volunteers/IRA in South Tipperary, 1913-21'published in 2018. Its geographical remit is wider than that of its predecessor which centred on the 3rd Brigade and its operations encompassing mostly South Tipperary.
The divisional structure used by the Volunteers and maintained by the anti-Treaty IRA, pulled South and Mid Tipperary together so that 'The Civil War in Tipperary' looks in some detail at that wider area, especially Thurles.
