About the Author:

The second eldest of twelve children Tom Everard was born in 151, and reared on a modest sized farm in Lisdaleen, Templetuohy, Co. Tipperary. This is the parish to which the Everard family moved in 1731, from Fethard.

Tom was born to Ned and Kitty Everard, and like other members of a farming family, Tom grew up, working on the family farm, in a typical fashion. Tom's education consisted of attendance at the local national school in Templetuohy This was followed by secondary school in Salesian College Secondary School, in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick. He then studied at both Universoty Colleges Cork and Dublin. Having qualified with an Agriculture Degree in 1973, Tom worked as an Agriculture Adviser with Teagasc in Co. Laois for over forty years until his retirement in 2016.

At present time Tom lives in Templetuohy with his wife Mary. They have three grown-up children and seven grandchildren.
