From a pedlar of tea leaves to 'the most widespread family in Mid-Tipperary', The Cormacks of Graniera Hill traces this Upperchurch family through more than two centuries, from 1727 to the 1950s. It captures what is known about the previous generations and their lives from a variety of sources - the memories of the older generation, family lore, and surviving family documents and photos, as well as the official records and local newspaper reports - all used to piece together the family story.
About the Author:
Dr. Bob McCormack is a son of Jack McCormack of Graniera House in Upperchurch, Thurles. Prompted by his father's stories from Graniera, he spent the last six years researching the family history and meeting with relatives. Bob is a retired CEO of Dara Community Living, a service for people with disabilities.
