Included are 'grown up' night poems like Alicante Lullaby, Sylvia Plath's description of her desire for sleep in the hustle and bustle of a Spanish resort, WH Auden's musical and soothing love poem Lullaby, Titania's sleep soliloquy from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and John Keats' beauitful Ode to a Nightingale .
The anthology also contains many tender poems reflecting a parent's experience of watching over children while they sleep, including Eavan Boland's/b> Night Feed, Seamus Heaney's Serenades, and Peter Sirr's PPS.
