Description
Inter-Provincial under the aegis of the GAA began in Ireland with the Railway Shield Competition 1905-1908.nnnnThis was followed by the Tailteann Games in 1924, but it was with the Railway Cup Competition ( later Martin Donnelly Interprovincial Series), inaugurated in 1927, that interprovincial games came into their own.nnnnThe book traces the history of these competitions from the beginning, following the rise to the heady days of the forties, fifties and sixties, to their decline over the last few decades.
